How did you get involved in the sport of triathlon?

My athletic career started at age five, playing hockey and soccer through high school, where I also began running cross country and track under legendary coach Joe Newton.  I went on to run track at Illinois State University for a year, then three years at The University of Iowa.  Looking to stay active after college I bought a bike and entered a sprint triathlon, and was instantly hooked.  Soon after, I began working at one of the nation's top triathlon shops, Endure It, where I was fortunate to learn about the sport of triathlon, its history, and the industry.

Why do you want to be an ambassador for ITU World Triathlon Chicago?

Having raced the Chicago ITU last year, I thought it was a world-class event, an amazing venue and atmosphere.  I'm excited about Chicago hosting the Grand Final, passionate about the sport and introducing others to ITU racing.

What are your past and current club or team affiliations?

I coach triathlon at Endure It and FFC, and I am a FIST certified bike fitter.

What is your favorite Chicago restaurant for pre-race or post-race food?

I like Local Root.

Where is the best place to swim, bike or run in Chicago?
