How did you get involved in the sport of triathlon?
My athletic career started at age five, playing hockey and soccer through high school, where I also began running cross country and track under legendary coach Joe Newton. I went on to run track at Illinois State University for a year, then three years at The University of Iowa. Looking to stay active after college I bought a bike and entered a sprint triathlon, and was instantly hooked. Soon after, I began working at one of the nation's top triathlon shops, Endure It, where I was fortunate to learn about the sport of triathlon, its history, and the industry.
