Swim: Athletes will begin their swim in Monroe Harbor at Queen’s Landing. Athletes will complete a 750-meter swim, swimming south along the sea wall and exiting at the south end of the Harbor near the Field Museum. Swim exit to transition area is 360 meters
Bike: Athletes will complete 3 laps. Transition is located at Arvey Field in Grant Park. Athletes exit transition and turn right onto Columbus Drive, biking north. Athletes continue on Columbus Drive, riding in the inner northbound lanes between Balbo Avenue and East Monroe Street. Athletes ride north on Columbus Drive, completing a U-turn before East Monroe Street to continue south along Columbus Drive. Athletes continue on Columbus Drive onto Lake Shore Drive, remaining on the right-side and turning left onto E. 18 Street. Once on E. 18 Street, athletes continue onto Museum Campus Drive and complete a U-turn at East Waldron Drive and return on Museum Campus Drive towards E. 18 Street. Once on E. 18 Street, athletes continue until reaching the Lake Shore Drive exit ramp. After entering the Lake Shore Drive ramp athletes stay to the right and continue onto Columbus Drive to begin the next lap or enter transition for T2, if the athlete has already completed all 3 laps.
Run: Athletes will complete a 1.5 laps, 5 KM run. 2.9 KM for the first lap and 2.1 KM for the second lap. Athletes exit transition on the city side entering onto the East side of Columbus Drive. Athletes continue north on Columbus Drive, completing a U-turn before East Monroe Street to continue south along Columbus Drive. Athletes turn left prior to Buckingham Fountain and then loop around the fountain and continue south on Columbus Drive until reaching the turnaround, at the same location the athlete entered Columbus Drive. Athletes will run 1 full lap, and on lap 2, (which is a half lap) athletes will end at Buckingham Fountain.
